These terms cover api.s2ar.dev, its MCP server, the s2ar.dev site and the hosted tools the sym plugin calls (the Service), operated by s2ar (Cody Lee Walker, Canada). The charter is part of them; if the two ever disagree, the charter's promise to you wins.
Each tool returns an answer and, on a paid call, a receipt: an evidence hash, the price and the determinism declared for that route. certify_image, assert_output, score_text, diff_images, inspect_x402, the environments and the audit also issue a signed Assay record that anyone can verify free. A record is a measurement under the standard it names: what was measured, how, and with what result. It is evidence, not a warranty. Latency and determinism are declared per route in the proceedings, not promised as service levels.
Pay per call in credits (a key from your account), in USDC over x402, or through Stripe's Machine Payments Protocol. Prices are in the manifest at /.well-known/x402 and in every 402 answer. Some routes answer a few calls a day without a key, and signing in grants a small balance, as the price list says; both may change.
A paid call that is not delivered is never charged: credits come back automatically, an x402 authorization is never settled, and the miss is counted in that day's proceedings as credited_not_delivered. Not delivered means no answer, an error answer, or a record that cannot be verified within the settlement window. An episode left open past its window, or an audit job that fails, is never charged. There is no form to fill in.
Verification is free, needs no account, and answers for every paid record, forever; we never revoke one. A record issued to a keyless free sample expires 30 days after issue. To challenge a verdict, write to assay@s2ar.dev with the record's sha: it is re-measured and printed in the next proceedings as a public row (upheld, withdrawn or rejected, with the reason). The standard changes only by a dated entry printed in the proceedings at least one edition before it takes effect, and a record is judged forever under the version it was issued under.
Send only what you have the right to send. Name only public repositories to the sym tools, and only URLs you may have us fetch; a grader you audit must be yours, or audited with its owner's consent. Don't send unlawful content, attack the Service or anyone else through it, or work around its keys, payments, rate limits or size limits. Present a record as the measurement it is. A record is public to anyone holding its sha, so put nothing in a check you would not hand on.
We may refuse service or sale to an address or an operator for abuse, fraud or antagonistic use, and withhold the Assay mark from a product. Refusals are published as counts, never as addresses, and a refusal never revokes a record already paid for.
Registering your own endpoint for a daily inspection (POST /v1/x402/watch, with a key) is consent to be named, on a page of its own, for that resource's results, passing or failing. One call withdraws it: the watch stops that day, the page says so, and every record it issued stays verifiable. A watch buys the probe, not the verdict, and a probe that does not run is not charged.
You keep every right in what you send and in the answers you get. We keep the Service, the engines behind it and this site; the engines are served, never distributed. The clients (the sym plugin, the s2ar-env package and the GitHub Action) come under the licenses they declare. Records are signed with our key and free for anyone to verify and pass on.
The Service is provided as is. A record measures what it states and nothing more, and we make no other promise of fitness for a purpose. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the Service is what you paid for it in the three months before the claim. Nothing here takes away a right the law gives you that a contract cannot remove.
Either side may stop at any time, and the records already issued keep the charter's promises. Refunds already owed, what's yours, the limit above and the governing law survive.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
