Terms of Service

Effective 2026-07-08 · s2ar.dev

These terms govern use of the starlens certified image-compression service (the "Service"), operated by Stardata (Cody Lee Walker, Canada).

The Service

starlens accepts image(s) and returns a compressed image plus a sealed certificate. The certificate is a measurement — a deterministic witness, calibrated against real vision models, indicating that the compressed image preserves the reader-relevant content up to a stated tolerance. It is strong, re-verifiable evidence, not an absolute warranty: it does not guarantee that every downstream model on every prompt returns a byte-identical answer. Use it as the signal it is.

Your responsibilities

Intellectual property

You retain all rights in the images you submit. Stardata retains all rights in the hosted Service, the certificate method, and the site. The underlying compression engine is open source under its published license; these terms cover the hosted Service.

Disclaimers & liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stardata's total liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid for the Service in the three months preceding the claim.

Termination

Either party may stop using or providing the Service at any time. Provisions on intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
